 [...] one should not confuse _small capitals used for text_ and _IPA
 small capitals_.  The former are a stylistic enhancement of text; they
 appear only in words entirely in small capitals style; their height is
 not equal to the x-height of the font, generally they are slightly
 higher. The latter are phonetic characters used together with authentic
 lowercase letters: they must have exactly the same height.

Je ne me prononcerai pas sur les caps IPA, mais que pensez-vous de la
comparaison entre l'x-height (on traduit bien par la hauteur de l'oeil ?)
des petites caps et des minuscules ("generally they are slightly
higher") ?
