Point typographique

Bonjour à tous.

J'ai trouvé ceci sur une liste anglosaxophone, où un iconoclaste allemand a
eu le toupet de promouvoir l'utilisation des mesures SI en typographie.

Qu'en pensez-vous (à part l'erreur de calcul évidente) ?  Il me semble que
Didot (François Ambroise) a inventé le point Didot et qu'il est mort en
1804.  Cette mesure était-elle utilisée pour désigner les corps de fontes ?

S'agit-il d'un cas d'arroseur arrosé - de chauvin chauviné ?
